Who We Are

My name is Stella and I’m proud and thrilled to be the President/Founder of the Northeast Edmonton Safe Neighbourhoods Association. I have lived in the NE my whole life, and have watched many things transpire over the years. We have moved forward on many issues and have lagged behind in others. As a parent of two kids it has always been in my concern/interest the safety of the NE. They have now grown, but that concern/interest has not gone away. I spent 40 years in Public Service in adult education, safety and enforcement. I have in the last few years, been the Chair of the Balwin/Belvedere Revitalization Guiding Team, Chair of the Balwin/Belvedere Safety Team and Team lead of the Balwin/Belvedere Revitalization Capital Projects. When my term ended, I moved onto the Belvedere Community League as Director, Community Safety and Patrol, which I have now left in order to start this non-profit organization, so that we can have safety in the whole NE. I was also the Community Representative for the Belvedere Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch, which I am now an Edmonton Neighbourhood Watch Ambassador. Safety is a broad and overarching concept that comes in many different forms. I am looking forward to collaborating and working with everyone in the NE and to help bring the tools to help you feel safer!

My name is Naomi and I've lived in NE for 14 years. I'm the Vice-President of the NESNA and a vendor at Farmers' Markets. I love my neighbours and neighbourhood. I look forward to meeting with all members of the North East Safe Community and hearing your concerns and suggestions.

My name is Elli Culligan and my goal is to help make my community safer. I have owned my home in Belvedere for 30 years and have observed safety concerns increasing. I retired after 30 years of administrative duties with Edmonton Public Schools. On retirement, I volunteer with Wheels of Hope, driving cancer patients to/from the Cross for treatment. Another long-term volunteer involvement (55 years) is with Teen Time of Edmonton, a youth organization. My interests also include music and theatre where I am often found attending or participating. I currently sing with the Coralaires, a choir out of North Edmonton Seniors Assn. After 27 seasons with Alberta Lyric Theatre onstage and backstage, I stick to just attending as many Fringe shows as possible. I am looking forward to using my varied experience to help make Northeast Edmonton safer for all.

I am Adolphus Ifeka, Director of Communication and Public Engagement for the Northeast Edmonton Safe Neighbourhood Association Board, where I provide strategic leadership to strengthen the Association’s communications framework, build public trust, and encourage civic participation across Northeast Edmonton by overseeing clear, timely communications, stakeholder engagement, public outreach, media and community relations, and partnerships with residents, local organizations, and key community stakeholders.
